THERAPY SPECIALTIES
Anxiety
You wake up already braced for the day, your mind running through everything that could go wrong, trying to solve a problem before it exists. Often there is the anxiety, and then the anxiety about the anxiety, the sense that you can't get it to stop. You've probably tried distracting yourself, pushing through, or thinking your way out of it, and noticed it sneaks back anyway. Therapy can help you build a different relationship with anxiety, so you can be in your life instead of watching it go by.
Depression
Sometimes depression is less about feeling sad and more about feeling flat, losing interest in people and things that used to matter, sleeping too much or not enough, going through the motions without really being present for any of it. Therapy can help you reconnect to yourself and to what makes life feel worth showing up for.
Relationships and Attachment
Maybe you give too much, or shut down when things get hard, or find yourself caught in the same push and pull around closeness, whether that shows up as codependency, fear of abandonment, fear of intimacy, or an anxious or avoidant attachment style. Sometimes the therapy work is about getting closer, improving communication and intimacy and letting yourself be more emotionally available. Sometimes it's about a decision you're sitting with, whether to take the next step, whether to stay or go, or how to get through a breakup or divorce. I work with people navigating all of it: dating, long-term partnerships, friendships, family. I'm sex-positive and poly-friendly. Therapy can help you understand where these patterns started, and feel more secure with the people you're closest to.
Please note: I no longer provide couples therapy. However, I bring my training in couples therapy to help you with your relationship goals as an individual client.
Work Stress
You work hard. You're capable. And somewhere along the way, the workload, the pressure, and your own standards have started to take a real toll on your evenings, your sleep, your relationships, and how you feel about yourself.
Therapy for work stress can help you change how you relate to work, so you can feel less stressed, unwind at the end of the day, sleep better, and enjoy your weekends, hobbies, and relationships.

Healing from Family of Origin Dynamics
Narcissistic or Emotionally Immature Parent
You grew up with a parent who was critical, self-focused, or hard to please, and you learned early to manage their moods instead of attending to your own. A lot of people who grew up this way don't fully recognize it until adulthood, when the old patterns keep shaping how they feel about themselves and how they show up in their relationships. Therapy can help you build a steadier, kinder relationship with yourself, and stop repeating old patterns in your relationships. It can also help you understand your emotions, and use them as a guide. If you were raised by a narcissistic parent, read more about therapy for family narcissistic abuse.
Family Scapegoating
You were the one who got blamed, dismissed, or cast as the problem, and it leaves a particular kind of mark. Even when you've done enough reading to have language for it, the feelings don't automatically follow the understanding. You might still find yourself doubting your perceptions, working harder than anyone to prove you're not the problem, or carrying a low-level sense that something is fundamentally wrong with you. Therapy can help you stop trying to prove you're not the problem, and know more fully that you're good inside.
Family Estrangement
You're navigating distance from family, whether that's something you chose, something that happened to you, or something you're still trying to figure out, such as how much contact you actually want. You might find yourself sitting with a mix of feelings that don't resolve into a simple story. And you might be feeling alone in the experience. Therapy can help you sort through how you feel, and come to a place of more peace and clarity.
